A letter from Oct 23, 2026

Dear FutureMe, Heyyyyyy, how’s it going? Just wanted to brain dump and leave some reminders here. Who knows if anything has changed since writing this. Let’s start off with if not much has moved on the job front, that’s okay! You are not behind. In fact, you are right on time. Do you remember that airport analogy? Everyone gets to the airport with different flight times, and that’s how timelines in life are too. Things come and go for everyone at different times, and everyone also has a different destination. Be patient for your flight and be excited for your destination. Another thing — your life has barely scratched the surface. It may feel like we’re getting so much older, and we were supposed to have all these different goals achieved by now, but that’s not how it works. And you’re still so young. You have so so much more to learn, and that’s the fun part. Life wouldn’t be as interesting if you had it all figured out by now and knew everything. Be more present and think about what you’re learning in these seasons of your life. I know these hard moments will just make you more resilient and resourceful. Our falls will prepare us for our greatest heights. This time around, I know we have maybe a little bit more of a positive mindset and approach to things. And that’s great! Really trusting that everything works out and that rejection is redirection and protection is going to carry us along. If doors are closed, we weren’t meant to walk through them. Getting older also means being more understanding and patient, and making peace with the things that we cannot control. You have to continue what you’re doing and make the most out of a not-so-great situation. What else? Well, you don’t even know the best things that can happen yet. There are things that can be just around the corner and it may feel like they’ll never come, but you don’t even know what it is or that it exists. Think about the jobs you’ve had in the past. There was a time where those jobs weren’t posted or existed yet. And that same thing will apply for your whole life. Opportunities that you never thought were possible can become possible. Opportunities that don’t exist now may exist years from now. You just have to trust the timing of everything. This is why life is exciting! Good things are coming, you just have to wait and be ready for them. Alrighty, I think that’s it for now!
